-
Candles refrigerated before
using will burn more slowly and evenly. Wrap in
foil or plastic before refrigeration to prevent
wicks from absorbing moisture.
-
Always store candles in a
cool, dark, dry place. They should be stored
flat to prevent warping.
-
Before your company arrives,
light and then extinguish the candles. When the
doorbell rings, they will then light quickly and
easily.
-
Candles should normally be
spaced 2 to 3-inches apart to avoid melting one
another. Avoid drafts to prevent rapid and
uneven burning and excessive dripping.
-
Keep wicks trimmed to 1/4
inch. Long or crooked wicks cause uneven burning
and dripping.
-
Clean soiled candles by
buffing with a rough paper towel or use a little
salad oil on a soft cloth.
-
Remove wax from candle
holders by running very hot water over them.
-
Votive glass will clean
easily if you add 1/8 inch of water to the glass
before inserting the candle.
-
Clean smoked up votive
glasses with cleaning fluid on a tissue. Never
use cleaning fluid near a flame.
-
All candles will fade if left
in light for an extended period of time.
Decorative candles will retain their colors
longer if stored when not in use.
-
Never place candles directly
on furniture; always use a holder to prevent
damage to furniture.
-
Be certain to have fresh
candles on hand for any occasion.
-
NEVER leave a burning candle
unattended!

Beeswax candle tip: A white,
powdery substance will coat all beeswax over
time. Correct it with a hair dryer briefly on
hot to bring out the natural color.
